E.COS was born in 1983, when organic was not a popular topic. First times were difficult: it did not exist a common consciusness and a careful and pretentious purchasers community about organic matter. With the Line Secrets of Nature we wanted to transform in cosmetics what Nature gives us. All the products are based on plants cultivated with organic techniques or collected spontaneously grown on mountains at the border between Emilia and Tuscany. Those are places where you feel scents in the air and eyes can be delighted by wonderful colours. Impossibility of intensive cultivation has made so that never were used synthesis fertiliser or pesticides. Vital energy of the plants is exceptionally vigorous and you can see this in effectiveness of the products. Ours is a great passion for the earth. From her we have taken every suggestion to make our cosmetic lines. Therefore our production systems indeed are handicraft and indeed the modern technique assists tradition without overwhelming it. Really nothing modern is on the land: we seed, take away infesting, collect in the balsamic time and dry by our hands not to pollute the plants and their land.

In laboratory, instead, the control quality is very sophisticated even if active principles extraction and transformation is traditional.

It’s easy to talk about organic products, but I say it is not easy to make them. To work the earth by hand is really laborious but it is useless to make organic cultivation using polluting machinery.
     Often someone asks me where my passion comes from. It comes from perfume of earth, from butterflies flying from flower to flower. We try to make as butterflyes do: to use the best that Nature gives us, giving her the most little disturbance we can in such way she can always give us the best. Collecting
flowers and plants by hand we spend the day among colours and perfumes in a magically aromatic air.
     My staff is united by the same passion: to live into nature. That is why we divide our time between the laboratory and the E.Cos cultivation, where we get the most of raw materials for our products.
     When we create new products, first we go in the middle of bloomed fields to see, smell, touch. In that atmosphere we can plan the best. Each product is music and plants are notes.
